INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OF CHRISTCHURCH
The airport is the main airport that serves Christchurch. It is located practically 12 kilometers to the northwest of the city Centre. The airport was officially opened on May 1940 and became New Zealand first international airport. It is one of the second busiest airports in the New Zealand after Auckland by both the annual passengers and the aircraft movements. The Christchurch international airport is one of the two airports in New Zealand that can actually handle Boeing 777 and Boeing 747aircraft on a regular basis and service.
